Medium Security Facility

This state-of-the-art correctional facility is adjacent to the Minimum Security Facility, located between Benton and Plain Dealing on Old Plain Dealing Road. The facility was designed to hold minimum- and medium-security inmates, but it is also equipped with a maximum-security area. The design allows for eight dormitories of 75 each, with areas for isolation.

The facility was constructed at a cost of approximately $8 million with no indebtedness to local taxpayers. State Department of Corrections monies were obtained to defray the cost.

The facility was built as a long-term housing facility for sentenced inmates from Bossier Parish. Programs are being put into place in efforts to reduce repeat offenders.

The warden of the facility can be reached at 318-326-5927. To contact the Bossier Sheriff Correctional Facility via e-mail, click here.
