The applicant’s letter should include an outline of education, work experience, and immediate supervisor’s name. It should also include a brief statement by the applicant explaining why they are interested in the position.
Payroll Coordinator Responsibilities:
• Changing individual payrolls as authorized by
management such as salary adjustments,
department transfers, terminations, etc.
• Maintaining payroll systems and reporting any
issues.
• Ensuring all payroll systems, deferred
compensation and Sheriff’s pension comply
with laws and regulations.
• Attending to any payroll-related queries or
questions from employees and retirees.
• Employment verifications as authorized by
employees.
• Creating payroll reports for review which
includes balancing and reconciling payroll
data and depositing and reporting taxes due.
. Year-end reporting such as W-2’s, 1099’s, etc.
• Wage deductions, record keeping and
verifying the accuracy of pay data.
• Calculating supplemental, overtime and
holiday pay, etc.
• New hire orientation.
Preferred Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting/HR
or Business.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting
principles and payroll practices.
• Experience working with accounting and
payroll software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills.
• Display a robust capacity for emotional
intelligence and self-awareness.
• Strong organizational and time management
skills.
• High numerical aptitude.
• Detail oriented.
