*** Bossier Schools Still Taking Donations

Bossier Sheriff’s Office ‘elves’ are continuing to collect canned goods and non-perishable food items for the “Spirit of Christmas” Food Box program at Bossier Parish schools.

Students and faculty at Apollo Elementary School collected 2,275 items. SRO Rebecca Preibus said, “Our Rockets were excited to pitch in and help those in need have a nice holiday meal.”

Students at Parkway High School also helped with the Christmas food drive by making donations. PHS officials said, “Congratulations Juniors for collecting the most cans to donate to Operation Blessing! Thank you to everyone who participated.” #phsbeta

Students, parents, teachers and visitors can continue to drop off their canned goods and non-perishables in the large barrels located in common areas at most schools here in Bossier Parish, as well as at barrels at the Viking Drive Substation, Arthur Ray Teague Substation, and Bossier Parish Courthouse in Benton.

All of those canned goods and non-perishable foods will then be collected and assembled into Operation Blessing “Spirit of Christmas” food boxes which will be personally delivered by Bossier deputies and Posse members to about 500 homes with elderly and residents-in-need. Brookshire’s Grocery provides the boxes and a coupon for a hen in each box.
