On Friday, November 3rd, Corrections deputies and 7 members of the Religious Volunteers group handed out socks that were donated by various churches.
As of Friday, 450 total inmates at the Bossier Max and 638 inmates at the Medium Facility were given a new pair of socks.
Sheriff’s Office Chaplin Jay Valentine said, “The Religious Volunteers who minister each week and their respective churches provided the funding for 1400 pairs of socks to be distributed to the inmates. We have been doing this for the last three years and it has been a blessing for us to provide the socks to them and certainly for them to receive them. Thanks to the Corrections Staff for coordinating this and assisting us in making this possible.”
