Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington presented a scholarship award to a college-bound student during a ceremony Friday afternoon at the Viking Drive Substation.
Adam Sprankle, son of Bossier Sheriff’s deputy Corporal Bryan Sprankle, received a check in the amount of $500 from Sheriff Whittington. Adam's plan is to begin college in the Fall and study nursing where he plans to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
Adam says he’s always wanted to be a registered nurse and work in the medical field. “I know it will be challenging, but with all the medical news over the last year, I know this is the occupation for me,” said Sprankle.
“I know it isn’t a lot, but I know every little bit helps,” said Sheriff Whittington,
The aim of this scholarship is to help offset college expenses for the children of deputies and staff members of the Bossier Sheriff’s Office.
