Haughton Elementary student Madeline Marks welcomed the family and friends who attended the ceremony. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Myles Moore and the introduction to the ceremony was conducted by Haughton Elementary SRO Brandon Dunn.
Bossier Schools Asst. Superintendent Andrea Spinney spoke to the students about the importance of making good choices and was followed up by BSO DARE Coordinator Cedric Payne who spoke about the importance of following the lessons learned from the DARE program.
The DARE essay winners were Aiden Williams, Christian Willis, Tatum Williams, Brylee Procell, and Avery Garison.
Aiden Williams won the Best Essay award.
Top Immense Participation award winners were Maddox Do, Piper Ratcliff, Scarlett Garrison, and Shaun Rhodes.
The Daren the Lion Award winner was Mallory Low.
Sheriff Whittington would like to thank all of the Haughton Elementary students for their hard work.
