Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington and the Bossier Sheriff's Office enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the 3rd Annual South Bossier Family Fun Night Friday night on Rossie Lee Drive.

The event was hosted by Shane Cheatham, Bossier Parish School Board Member (District 11), along with Eric Newman (BPSB District 9) and Dennis Bamburg, Jr. (BPSB District 12) and sponsored by Lee Lighting and Smartphone Specialists. The event is also held to support the Bryant Lee Scholarship Fund, and all proceeds from the evening will go the scholarship that is awarded to a Parkway senior each year.

The theme was "Burgers and Badges" and paid special honor to the various law enforcement agencies in Bossier Parish, in which Newman presented a plaque to Sheriff Whittington and representatives from the Bossier City Police Department and Louisiana State Police. There were also plenty of events for children and families to enjoy, along with your fill of hamburgers and hot dogs.

"It's events like this that make Bossier Parish the special place it is," said Sheriff Whittington. "We are so appreciative of the support and community spirit we have here, and I sincerely thank Shane and all those who had a hand in putting this together. Excellent event!"
