Chief Deputy Duane Huddleston on behalf of Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington presented the Louisiana Sheriff’s Association Scholarship to Emma Gonzales last Wednesday in the Bossier Sheriff’s Conference Room in the Bossier Parish Courthouse in Benton.
Emma, the daughter of Kim Flournoy who works in the records department, was awarded a $500 scholarship for Bossier Parish. She is already attending Northwestern University in Natchitoches pursuing a degree in Psychology. She boasted a 4.3 GPA in high school and is currently carrying a 4.0 in college.
The Sheriffs’ Scholarship is made possible by the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program (LSHMP). Louisiana Sheriffs provide scholarships to graduating high school students from each parish where the Sheriff is an affiliate member of the Program.
