A Princeton man was arrested Wednesday afternoon when a deputy stopped him for speeding and found marijuana.
Carl C. Lowrey, 29, of the 1200 block of Ward Lane, was driving down his street when a deputy stopped him for traveling 39 mph in a 25 mph zone. When the deputy made contact with Lowrey, he smelled a strong odor of burnt suspected marijuana coming from the vehicle. Lowrey admitted he had marijuana in the van and consented to a search of his vehicle, in which the deputy found a metal and wooden smoking device containing loose marijuana.
Lowrey was charged with possession of Schedule I (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding. He was transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility for booking, and his bond is pending. He has two prior arrests for marijuana - 2002 and 2005.
