Teen Arrested for Bringing Loaded Weapon to School

A 15-year-old student at Charlotte Ann Mitchell Educational Center in Bossier City was arrested this morning for bringing a loaded weapon on to the school's campus.
The student apparently concealed the gun as he rode the bus to school and entered the school building. Soon after school began this morning, the school resource officer noticed the teenager acting suspiciously and found the fully loaded .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun on his person.
"We don't know what the student's intentions were, but it appears no threats were made," said Sheriff Deen. "However, the intuition and quick action by our school resource officer diffused what could have possibly led to a much worse situation."
The teen student was charged with carrying a firearm onto school property and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center in Bossier City.
