A Haughton man was arrested Wednesday evening for intending to sell meth following a traffic stop for driving erratically on Highway 80.

Juan M. Sanchez, 32, of the 100 block of Holly Lane in Haughton, was driving eastbound on Highway 80 in near Kings Korner in Haughton when he was stopped by a Bossier deputy for a traffic violation. When the deputy contacted Sanchez, the driver could not produce a driving license, telling the deputy he was driving with a suspended license. A warrant check also discovered Sanchez had two active warrants out of Bossier City.

When the deputy conducted a pat-down of Sanchez, he found a glass smoking pipe in his shirt pocket; Sanchez denied it was his. Sanchez also gave verbal consent to search his vehicle, and the deputy found six small bags of suspected methamphetamines, bagged for resale, weighting approximately 10 grams.

Sanchez was charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule II (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension, improper lane use, and the two warrants for probation violations out of Bossier City. He was transported to the Bossier Maximum Correctional Facility in Plain Dealing for booking, and his bond is pending.
