A young woman was arrested yesterday afternoon for flight from an officer and speeding.
Kasey Renee Horne, 18, of the 100 block of Cypress Lake in Benton, sped past a deputy who was running radar on LA Highway 162. Horne was clocked by the deputy as going 75 miles-per-hour in a 55 mph zone. The deputy activated his overhead lights and siren and pulled onto the highway behind Horne. She turned down Crouch Road, and her speed got up to 110 mph. Crouch Road's posted speed limit is 50 mph.
The deputy lost sight of Horne's vehicle. He continued to look for the car and found the vehicle parked at a home in the 100 block of Running Deer Lane. Horne was advised of her rights and then admitted to the deputy that she fled when she saw his lights. She also admitted to going 110 mph down Crouch Road. She was arrested and booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility. Her bond was set at $1150.
