Four Bossier Sheriff deputies have graduated from DARE Officer Training School in Lafayette. Deputies Brandon Long, Matt Bertrand, Tanya Boughton, and Dillon Lopez are now instructors for the DARE Curriculum in Bossier Schools.

D.A.R.E., an acronym for "Drug Abuse Resistance Education," teaches fifth-graders ways to resist the dangers of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, violence and some of the other evils that today's children face. Bullying is also a major topic in the D.A.R.E. program.

The anti-drug and violence course is taught by the SRO's with support from the Bossier Parish School Board.
